Social enterprise takes centre stage in Southampton
Social enterprise and building community responsibility will be on the agenda at a networking event in Southampton next month.
The event, at the Ocean Village Innovation Centre will be held Thursday February 6th from 2pm until 5pm.
It will see five social enterprises pitch against each other to win a brand new website by Yuno Media followed by the opportunity for networking for all local social enterprise organisations and companies keen to make 2020 a year they really embrace building community spirit.
Those bidding for a website include social enterprises supporting adults with autism through to a woodland conservation project and an enterprise dedicated to social wellbeing.
The panel will include Dan Grover, Rob Grover and Jonny Bliss from Yuno Media who say they are dedicated to supporting social enterprise together with Stepehen Deller, centre manager at the Ocean Village Innovation Centre.
“We know how much a good website can help an organisation,” said Dan. “It’s like another member of staff working 24/7.”
He said Yuno has been involved in building websites for social enterprises in the past and it’s a great way to give back to the community and help a worthwhile cause.
In addition to the pitches and the networking there will be a short presentation from Fergus Lyons from the School for Social Entrepreneurs Hampshire Administration.
As part of the event, those pitching will have 10 minutes to talk about what their social enterprise does and how a new website would impact their business. The winner will be announced at the event.
